Emotionally Healthy Discipleship

Emotionally Healthy Discipleship is a path for growth in our emotional and spiritual health to help us mature as we follow the way of Jesus. It consists of two courses that will equip you in a discipleship model that will deeply change your life and foster practices in you that are essential for spiritual formation.

Course offered during the Winter/Spring

How well do your relationships reflect the love of God? When you consider your relationships (family members, parents, spouse, significant other, coworkers, and friends), how well do you resolve conflict in healthy ways? Speak assertively and communicate your needs clearly? Clarify your own values and respect those of others?

Jesus famously stated that loving God and loving others cannot be separated. The New Testament writers consistently point to love for others is the litmus test of love for God.

In the Emotionally Healthy Relationships course (EHR), we'll build on the foundational reality that it is not possible to be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature...which also means relationally immature. You’ll learn how to slow down your life and develop depth in your relationship with Jesus and others. Specifically you'll learn to...

  • Stop being sabotaged by wrong assumptions

  • Eliminate confusion by clarifying expectations

  • Discover what your family taught you about communication and conflict

  • Get beneath the surface of your emotional life

  • Deepen connection through "incarnational listening"

  • Disentangle your complex emotions and speak clearly

  • Master the art of clean fighting

  • Design a lifelong plan to grow in love for others

Winter/Spring session launches Wednesday, Jan 29th, 6:30-8:30pm. The course is 8 sessions & includes a $20 materials fee.
